Default power needed to drop 1 sec in the 1/8th?

Been 6.1 in the 1/8th at 3200lbs how much more power would it take to go say a 5.2?

I remember hearing 10hp is good for .1 but I don't think that is correct any more.

Alot with that 60ft, and you'd be looking at more MPH than that.

10 hp for a MPH and 1 tenth in the 60 foot was generally 2 tenths in the ET. But thats when your talking a 3800 pound Fbody make stock power running somewhere in the 13's. Can't really use that logic when your far faster.

6.1 is good for 9.4x 1/4 conversion and 5.2 your talking BOTTOM 8's and to run that sort of power is going to take a killer 1/8th mile suspension setup, more weight out of the car a **** ton more power.

What the final HP # that you need is anyone's guess but I can tell you that it much more then your thinking.

Start searching for cars similar to yours and see what set ups running bottom 8's that have a compariable 1/8th time. That is what I would do, especially since there not as many examples out there compared to a F-body.

he might have the mph to get to low 5s with an extra 450 to the tire, but without a 1.2x 60', it aint happening.

A friend's fox runs a BBC that makes quad digits on motor and gets hit with a 300+hp nitrous hit to run high 4s.

Recently the car got faster, best pass ever:

thats what I'm thinking...

it takes a ton of power to overcome a bad 60ft to run a low et.

hell...I went 154 mph on a 5.0 pass with a lazy 1.37 60 ft

i know the 60ft needs work.
the 1.45 6.11 115 was on 14psi
im hoping with getting the 60ft down to a low 1.30 high 1.29 and 10 more lbs boost i can knock off that .9. i would be super super super happy with a 5.19 but not counting on that. my cages is only good for a 5.30

we run about 6.0 on motor and 4.9 on nitrous about 400-500 hp worth of juice. But its probably more hp needed our 6.0 on motor is held back by convertor/gear setup for nitrous so my guess would be 500 hp. but if you can get more out of the 6.1 by getting that 60' down you may be able to get away with less "additional" hp .
