My new engine is finally ready for the dyno. I should have some numbers by next tuesday.

Probably more then you can buy a 588 alum bbc for I'd guess...

I think I would want to know how much it cost but idk lol, Cant wait for some numbers how high you plan to spin it?

Probably spin it over 9k.

It's not a matter of a budget. It's a simple reliability at X amount of power equation for me.

I'd just rather spend 25 grand on a motor I know will stay together at the power level I want, then put something together that will have a substantially higher maintenance schedule.

Fwiw I call staying together, 200 passes. Doing that with an ls based engine that's making in excess of 1200 at the tires... I think the answer is going to be no.

4.185 bore, 3.800 stroke, a lot of compression.

A few reasons. I got a great deal on the Callies Magnum XL crankshaft. Also, there is a weight break in the LSX all motor class if you are under 420 ci. My C5 has an IRS rear suspension which although it works well, does not hook up like a straight axle car does. The smaller cube engine will make less torque than a larger cubic inch engine, therefore I should not increase the problem that I already have of getting the car off the line withough spinning the tires.
