Default Trans brake ?

My friend has my old SS we just got the th350 built with a rmvb and trans brake. It has a ptc 4500 converter. I always foot braked the car. It went 6.90 on motor cam only before the old th350 broke with a 1.5 60. Car has stock 10 bolt minus the moser axles. Im just curious whats going to brake with him leaving on the trans brake, he said its good for 1/2 second and i dont see that either.

what tire and gear combo, trans break can def be helpful as it will leave much harder... Im going to say that if the car has no suspension, and you leave hard of t brake you will have a little traction problems.. but if it does hook, my guess is driveshaft will go or the 10bolt is going to take a dump off t break.....

Going sat and taking vids!! They have some cars that run low fives and he is tryting to treat this one like its one of those lol Its kinda sad i put alot of blood and sweat in that car i dont wanna see it tore up lol he wants a 200 on there as well. I know people do it all the time but leaving on a 200 and trans brake is asking for trouble lmao! At least he has the funds to fix what he breaks

You'd be lucky to pick up any ET of the transbrake. It's more for consistency theny anything, not saying you can't pick up ET from it, but 1/2 sec when your already in the 1.5s is a lil much

cutting 1.5 60's, id say he can get some 1.4x's on t break if it is all set up correct, and on the 200 shot, and t break out of the whole,,, def good bye rear if the car even decides to think about hooking lol!!!!

I would recomend to him to grab a progressor and progress it in to 200 if he is wanting a 200 shot, will def help on traction and strain on parts!

I told him he is not use to f body rear ends he is us to the old school stuff that u can beat on, dont get me wrong this car runs good for cam only i got it down to 2800 pounds. I just wanna see what it will do again with a better tranny amd just flashes it off the line thats how i had best luck with it getting it to hook, im not sure how it will act now with trans brake but were definately going to find out !!!

Some run a 2 step with the t brake. If I use my brake I set it 1k below max stall speed. And t brake or not. That 200 hit will improve the 60ft if it hooks and dosnt break. But tbrake vs no tbrake prolly won't see much of an improvement. But every set up acts different. Regardless...dosnt hurt to have it in the tool bag
