fix the stall first, it's probably pretty tight for a turbo setup. do any free mods you haven't done T/B, egr, free ram air if you don't have a snorkel, i went 12.9 w/ lid+snorkel on street tires. fix what you have first! headers and tune got me 3 tenths, if you have 2.73's that be the next fix. i'd bet you go 12's with the right stall. don't be scared to do some simple weight reduction. i threw out the cruise, trac control, all the air injection stuff up front, and the tunnel brace behind the trans crossmember never missed it and it's my daily driver just get the codes turned off with the tune. i also tossed the front sway bar and brackets and front bumper support but thats more then average DDs.

I went 12.4s in the summer here in mississippi with just a trans, worn out vig 3600 converter, offroad y-pipe, stock 3.23s, lid and a little tune on 17s w/ a car weighing in @ 3420 w/ draglites, not sure what it weighed with the 17s.

so I'de say something bad is wrong

Car was running 8.80's without the converter then 8.50's after the converter. It would seem the converter is doing its job. Would changing the converter now mean I have to redo it again if I decide to add a cam/heads later?

if you had it set for current setup then add power it will loosen it up a little more which would propably be useful with a step up in power. it might be ok going down the track but if you only have 1.9 60's it's holding you back out the hole. what are you launching at i'd say mid 1.70's would be good for your setup unless the gears are really killing it that much. decide on what gears to get and get the converter done for your setup and gears.

Problem will be resolved soon. Parts have been purchased. With the coming mods and a 100 shot I would expect 11's will be attainable.

Well, the mods are done.
Added Torquer v2-112
springs
pushrods
Fresh oilpump
new timing chain
Pacesetter 1&3/4 LT
No air or egr
offroad ypipe
Frost tune

Impressions: The car feels like it has more power everywhere. It is totally too loud with the single in/dual out flowmaster. I hope to get to the track in a few weeks to test what, if anything has improved. As I suspected the changes have loosened the converter so now it feels like it will launch better. Time will tell.

Result number 1 is I have an o2 issue. Getting p0131 and p0134. Might have killed the sensor driving it untuned.

I replaced the sensor and moved the wiring and so far the issue is cleared. It drives well and the SES light is off.

Glad to hear you got it all lined out man, I enjoyed watching your Mustang at NMRA/NMCA this past year! That thing rolls out hard! Sounds great too! Enjoy the LS1!

Thanks for remembering me. The T/A is actually a project for my girlfriend who enjoys racing the car. She started racing late in 2010 and by the fall of 2011 had already become bored with the power. She also wanted to run quicker to be more competitive in the NMCA true street event. Here is a pic of both cars at the 2011 NMRA/NMCA event.

Update* Had the car at the track over the weekend. The result were very disappointing. Best pass 13.08 @106.89. Race weight with driver 3,650 lbs. Judging by the 2.08 60' with no spin the converter needs to be redone. I am not sure if it is worth trying the setup with the nitrous before the converter or just have it done before. I also think I have developed transmission issue.

acually thats perfect the converter needs to be tight to not blow threw the rpms, course you'd need a 300 shot to recover from that 2.08.

My 2001 Z28 went 13.29@108 completely stock down to the paper filter

Went 13.01 with headers and magnaflow catback

Went 12.04 with 3800 yank and 15 drag wheel setup... All with 2.73 gears

Something seems off with your current setup.
