Default Aerospace rear brake ?

Does the caliper mount get pressed on the axle like the stock backing plate or can you just slide it over the axle. It has a cut away so you could but its also recessed in the center for what appears that the bearing can sit against it.

there is a recess for the bearing to sit on, essentially "squishing" the bearing against the housing end to keep it located correctly. I can't speak for a single caliper but my dual setup obviously needed to be put on before the bearings were installed.

My single caliper had an open side so didnt need to be on before the bearing.

Also be forewarned... if they are stock type housing ends, you will need a spacer that goes inside the axle housing end between the bearing.

Deep housing ends allow for the bearing to sit completely inside, without the spacers the axle can move in and out about an 1/8" and the rotor will hit the caliper.

Excellent point. I just ran into this trying to assemble my new setup this week. deep housing ends and the bearing sat flush. When we went to bolt up, the caliper would have contacted the bracket for caliper. Thankfully, Chuck@Burkhart is taking care of me and shipped me out some spacers.

It should be self expanatory, if the bearing sticks out past the end it will have to be recessed on the caliper mount the same amount.

Im asking ? cause I dont want to have to purchase two sets of bearings, any time I have had to have bearings pressed off they have been ruined. So wanted to get it right the first time.

you dont have to press the bearing off to put in the spacers. they go in the housing end, then you put the bearing and axle goes in.

I have dual caliper setup but there is no notch in mine to slide the bracket over bearings? Weird.
