broke it on the street last night.. car is stock witha lid and free mods.. launched 3500, clicked 2nd, and CLUNKa clunka chunk into 3rd. Anybody gotta 3.42 they wanna donate or sell real cheap??? Had to limp to a buddies at 12mph in 1st gear for about 6 miles.

Did it tear up the carrier or just the ring and pinion, I have a set of 342 gears in really good shape.

pretty sure just the gear seeing as how the pinion nut was loose a couple months ago and all i did was tighten it and crushed the crush sleeve more which would cause less tooth contact. It was a cheap walmart gear anyway that previous owner put in about 50k ago after original started gettin sloppy..

traded a 4.56 for a 3.90 today. just got home actually.. cant wait to get it installed and rip on it!

NO NO NO! wasnt mad at all. I beat the **** outta it and think its funny that theyre soo weak that it cant survive on the street with 10+yr old dry rotted tires that i threw on it....I was laughing, and saying yeah, that was pretty cool, and my buddy felt really bad that he broke my car, but i just said yeah i knew it would happen. Just thought it would happen next time at track where its actually STICKY. I have an 8.8" with 3.73, just got to do the fab work. Picked up a 3.90 gear yesterday for a temporary fix.
