Pics of pin on hatches.
Just after some pics of how you guys have mounted yours. I need pin on hatches only!!
I know theirs only been a few threads with this info, search my name if you haven't found them. Ive seen a cool setup on a x275 mustange raccraft is building they took there dzus hood rails and choped them and used them for the pin on hactch. Not a cheap way to go I bet.

I checked out the racecraft link, nice build! Just dont think it will work for me at the top of the hatch, I have dzus's for the deck ild if you like. I will have to keep looking. If you have any ideas of what threads you posted about the hatch it would be great. You contribute to alot of threads!!

So to begin with I sat the hatch on the car, it wasnt't to bad afit. It needed to seat lower on the rear guards, so I looked....... it was binding on the excess seam sealer. So it was out with the heat gun and chisel to begin removal, then some turps and it was cleaned and ready to go.
Trial fit again, now it is much closer the front portion is now an acceptable fit. So whats holding up the back, the angle of the hatch isn't consistant with the body line. So since i'm repainting it was the body that was reworked in this area.

Right so now segment and tack the quarter. Now that is acceptable but it was still to tight between the quarters only for about 150 mm from the rear, so i called upon my grinder again and from the inside of the hatch area cut it right along the top of the quarter. This alowed me to move the body line in the tight section out only by a mm or so so I could restich the quarter to were I needed it to be. Now that the hatch fits between the quarters correctly It was time to begin mounting it.
For those of you wondering, I did it this way so if I ever need a replacement hatch as long as I use a VFN, I know that it will fit the body!
Prepared the area for welding, and I began to get the deck to mount up first. Made up some Dzus brackets out of some 1 inch angle iron and welded another 1 inch piece of steel to mount my fastners. You need the offset shape to miss the hatch lip and support the deck lid. Here is the first side what I considered to be done.

Ill get back to why I considered it done later!
Same procedure on the other side.

Now to mount the top of the hatch. This is without a doubt the most critical aspect of the mounting procedure. Now as the deck lid is mounted nicely between the quarters and in the right position front and rear. You can establish a height to set the top of the hatch. I made an error here as I assumed the hatch would have gone in under the roof. So I made up some mounts and monted it. It was not right and distorted the hatch imensely. This is were I learned that the hatch had to be lifted so it was just a tiny bit under flush with the roof and also that I needed more support in different areas closer to the top corners and then central support.
This is the correct height.

Here is my bender used to fabricate the top mounts as shown.

So with some resized and repositioned top mounts the top is now good. I just have 2 spare holes in the hatch, which I ordered a gelcoat repair kit for the will reglass and repair.

Those with a keen eye may also see in this pic the last step required to mount it correctly, was the support added on the front of the decklid as it still kept sitting down to low in the quarter.

Now just to finish up stiching the quarters and were good to go.
There you have it guys.

I would not recomend this hatch on a daily driver as it has really no weathersealing capabilities!!
Now I just have to work out a good way to mount the speed glass!! Im sure there are other ways to do it, but this is what worked for me. I hope this helps some of you guys out!
BTW I have probably missed somthing somewere, so if I have let me know!
