I'm not real sure on the weight, it was built pretty stout to hold a driveshaft in place. I'd guess under 10lbs but PM MWC for more info.

I found some better pics

I have a Lakewood in a box and its a heavy ****. I never installed it due to the fear of stuff coming loose so I got a UMI. I have helped install a UMI and BMR, both similar weights, similar styles. It's a "users" choice on that.

TheChef (super mod on LS1tech) had a Aluminum D/S let go badly and still did a good amount of damage, so having one is good. A Aluminum Loop would shred, and IMO some cars need 2 loops, one near the normal location and one further down to save for D/S that break towards the rear diff to avoid loosing the TQ arm, under car damage, parking break cable and possible diff housing damage.

Only about 6 pounds for the pair and the cm tube type will lose 1/2" of ground clearance... not really worth the cost in my eyes.

Ya that can't be right, I remember weighing a few around the shop years ago. Some car had that multi plate style Lakwood, I think jegs sold it as the jegster, and I somone else did, granittli, edelbrock or somone too. The had a bunch of hardware, and extra long plates for muilt holes. Its really was over 10.
I just remembered that short TA that has the loop. It has dual round tubing for the Xmember (red). Sphon or umi? I think thats what I was thinking.

Had mine off, its this style BMR, fits under my far back mellow 3inch to 4inch Ipipe, and oval so it dont hit the DS. My rearend fit up high to the body, springs are low and it tucks 28's barley. Or when the rearend is hanging down on the shocls.
I would think its a little lighter then the MWC, looks like it has a little less flat bar length going strait across then up in the tunnel. But going under the TA and catback, you have to remove it to get them out. MCW style goes over them. But I think you would have to remove your DS loop anyway to get the trans out you would be pulling that stuff anyway. Only have a .2 digital bathroom scale at the house. Got about 5.8 on the BMR one, Its under 6.0 for sure and got a few 5.6 Scales sucks for not repeating very nice.
