but honestly how many "stock" ls1s are there still?

my 2.73 a4 is "stock" but melts 315s from a 30 roll, how are all of you hooking with stock sized tires?
No matter the mileage? Your telling me a 200,000 mile car will perform identical to a 50,000 mile car? Are you asking how are we hooking from a 30 roll? Easy, we race from a dead stop.

I would like to think some of Lee's post is just him being sarcastic. At least I hope so.

And unfortunately it'll be April 6th before I make another pass.

i'm not saying they perform identically, i'm saying that mileage has NO effect on performance AT ALL. things do wear yes, but when at the magical 200k mile mark, 100k mile mark? ring tension and end gap as well as valve seat seal could very well still be as good or better on a 200k mile car than a 100k mile car, i have first hand experience with this. my car with 160k on it has basically 0 leakdown, my 4.8 silverado with 245k miles has 2% yet still gets 18mpg and burns less than 1/4qt of oil between 5000 mile oil changes. both of these vehicles rarely see 2000rpm with the exception of my car at 75mph turning about 2100rpm. all i'm saying is mileage is NO indication of condition so i hate seeing people say "thats a high mileage motor thats why its not making power" when they should really be saying "your motor LIKELY hasnt been properly taken care of or has had a rough past and isnt up to par anymore". i've boost 2 motors over 200k miles without a problem and sprayed atleast a handful aswell. the only one to ever give me a problem was the one with 89k miles that stretched a rod bolt.

i race from a dig too, and wont hook until middle of second without peddling my A4 2.73 car even with a 315. this part was sort of sarcastic because mine isnt stock, it has a few bolt ons and obviously tuned with little torque management, i couldnt imagine hooking on a 245wide tire is all i'm saying.

There are lots of slow ls1's out there. Mine has almost 235'K on it and it is slow just like the OP's car. Even with the high miles I can beat a friends car every pass and he has 91K on his car. I think slow LS1's are like Justin Timberlake CD's, Nobody wants to admit to having one!

all i'm saying is that trap speed is low for a healthy LS1 fbody no matter what options it has.

275whp in our cars is 84mph ish in the 1/8th.
