I'm running a Gates K060547 (55 1/4").. That's using the stock balancer & a grooved idler pulley in place of the factory smooth one. Mine is set up just like the one in this pic. You get a little bit more belt wrap on the waterpump vs not running an idler.

how hard is it to remove (or cut off) the driver side rack pinion mounting bolt to remove OEM rack?
I don't have a saw saw, do have a hack saw and a small dremal cutoff wheel.
images of this would be nice, or is there a writeup on a RP swap?
Thanks

great. I know a rack with better gearing would be better, but with skinny mickeys on front it doesn't turn bad at all. I also have a posi tho, with a spool i bet it would get pretty bad

i have to find out more about this. anyone know if this guy is still in business?
how much were these modified oem racks?
edit: just called rackdoctor, they no longer do the manual rack conversions due to the time involved

Back in 2012, when I order mine, he was doing these on his own time, and really not making enought money verses the labor time it took to do these.
Maybe, it just took up to much of his time.
Very good product, but it's a bitch to steer into your pit area. Once going, very smooth.
I think there's a DIY conversion in this thread.
