S. Fla - PBIR Musclecar Challenge 4-7-12
The second event of our new drag race series at PBIR is 4/7/12!
Come on out - whether you are an experience racer or a beginner, this is the best way to test your car and yourself in a relaxed fun atmosphere. It's like a car show with a drag race thrown in.
Unlike other series, where you get two time runs then if you lose in eliminations, you're done for the evening...with our format, you keep racing as long as you want! Unlimited TnT all evening long on a competition-prepped track. No ricers tearing up the track prep. You can run 20+ runs if you want to. That's where you really learn, no hours of waiting between runs like a normal TnT night. Pull up and run. Last event there were no breakdowns, it was pull up and run all evening.
What that translates to is if you are learning, you've got plenty of time to practice, with experienced folks around to help.
And the grudge racing with your buddies is a great side benefit.
My friend Bob provided more details:
Hope to see you all at the track!

5 personal bests were set at the first Musclecar Challenge!
Here are some videos from the last event:
Justin did 4 hot laps in a row looking to capture the top spot in the LS3 internal mods category on the C6 Fast list.....here's his best run, which was a new personal best.

That track was GLUED. I think a 1.48 60 foot with 3.42 gears and a stock clutch is a record.
As you can see from my video in my sig, the track prep is ALWAYS stellar. I think my 1.44 60 foot is a record for a stock clutch M6.

Our own 16 again setting a Personal Best at the first challenge!

And yet another personal best from Ron...a 70's something drag racer who never hit a track before...his racing was in the 50's! See him getting it done in his 427 small block C3...yanking the wheels N/A. This was about his 5th time down the track, he ran steady 11.3's all night and went rounds at his first event. Way to go Ron!
Rapid Rick, our camera man had a little trouble on this video as you'll hear at the end. NSFW!

Little Franks getting it done with his ls3 powered Monte Carlo.

You want hook? PBIR has it on our challenge events. I literally lost a shoe making one of these videos.
