Starting new build
I'm not sure where else to post this but here we go.
I'm currently in the market for a corvette. I had a budget of roughly 100k. I'm going to go all out and make a drag/street 1000+ hp vette. Been talking to some builders and it seems that within my budget we can get a pretty mean supercar going. Thinking of going ahead and buying a z06, shipping the motor/trans and all back to me to have as backup for the 5th gen once my ls3 blows because of boost, and then drop new engine, tranny and the twins into the vette. Been talking to a reputable shop who says we can see 1200rwhp easy with the build. And turn up boost we can even get to 1400rwhp.
Now, the goal of this car is to beat one of the fastest cars in my country. A 1130awhp GTR. The thing is CRAZY fast. Traps 150-160. Only thing I got going for me I think is weight but I'm not sure I can stick all that power to the ground on the vette. The drag strips here are crazy bad. A build nitrous foxbody ran 11 trapping at like 150, just to have an idea of how bad traction is for RWD down here. The GTR ran 9.8@152 or something like that.
Anyone have any suggestions for my build. What chassis to buy, if I should spray etc etc etc. Just need some ideas more than anything. I got my own mentality kind of set but it's always good to hear other options or maybe some ways to stick power to the ground...? My current 630rwhp SS can't even get traction in 3rd. I had to buy 17" welds and drag slicks to get it to hook just in 3rd.. Don't want to have the same problem again. Spinning completely at 80mph isn't fun.
