Default Fast N/A cars

Man this has been freaking me out lately. I see stock internal cars run just as good as me on the spray, I do run faster then some of the ones that i am seeing but 11.5's - 11.3's thats crazy. Im running 11.1 @ 123 with 100 shot NX. im a cam car w/o headers and im hoping for 11.6's - 11.70's.. once i get headers and a tune .... heh

3200 stall
cam
lid
borla - hollowed out cats

The SI cars that are running those times have ALOT of weight reduction along with everything that will bolt up without going over SI level. Some people will not go to weight reduction extreme because people treat it as a "race car" attitude but to me it does not matter. I may just drop my weight into the 3200 lbs. range this fall to see what it will do. Keep in mind some of these ETs are ran in good DA along with a good hooking track with a matched setup. Matching the setup IMO is what it's all about(gearing, converter, tires, weight and suspension).

Cam only cars fall in the same lines but when you add a cam you change so much in the suspension, tires and gearing along with needing a tuned PCM more so than a SI car. It took me over a year to get my setup that i have now playing with suspension, gearing, tires and converters. Now i have it setup and i just have to wait it out for some cold air to return later in the year. My car at local tracks runs with heads/cam cars and most can't figure out why but if you dig into the car deeper you can see i finally matched everything up and getting it to launch hard helps to without breaking anything. Just set the car up to where everything works together and everything will fall into place and don't look at other cars and start compareing them to yours because every car is different in some ways.

Get the long tubes and tuning and you should see a BIG difference in the ETs and mph. Might want to step the converter up more (YPT4000/SS 4000/3.73s) something that will work with motor and nitrous.

Thats what I was thinking, but I thought to high of a stall is bad for the bottle. Man it makes me mad im planning on running a 11.6 like I said with a full bolt on w/ cam and I see you run just as good as me on the spray. I know what you are saying though. If I got gears and a bigger stall and a tune I would run good, but the stall is going to stay in for awhile headers are next, then a tune.

Thanks for all the help.

You really have to build an automatic car to excell in one way or the other (nitrous vs all-motor). This is mostly due to converter stall, as well as gearing/tire height. With a manual car, you have a little more flexibility on nitrous vs engine passes because you can control your launch rpm.

Just figure out which direction you want to take your car, then work on those goals. Reducing weight on a car is not always the first choice for everyone, some of us prefer to just add more power.
