New Best!!
Drove down to Capitol for some shakedown passes with the brand new motor.
For those that don't know. I smoked the stock motor setup a couple weeks ago. Basically, the car got real lean and burnt a piston into the ring land. Very ugly! *Bonehead owner mistake.
Anyway.. The New Setup:
New 2004 Z06 shortblock
MTI 2E heads
MTI X1 cam
MTI tuning
After a few TnT runs, re-gapping plugs.. etc.. I was finally able to get a clean pass off:
60 1.558
330 4.534
1/8 7.048
mph 97.86
1000 9.214
1/4 11.052
mph 123.01
After seeing that.. I figure it was time to get a little more serious
Put on the short belt and pulled the passengers seat Next pass was a nice one
60 1.493
330 4.439
1/8 6.932
mph 98.66
1000 9.083
1/4 10.925
mph 122.32
That was the first elimination round.. Edgehawk beat me. I broke out a little... my dial in was a 10.99
Raceweight was in the ~3390-3400 range. Added a roll bar, belts and a spohn rear sway bar since my 3320 SI days.
I now have a legitimate 10-second street car and I'm very happy with the new combo. It has a ton more in it, not to mention it still only has 200 miles on it
HUGE thanks goes out to Jayson and all the guys at MTI. They burnt the midnight oil to get my parts turned around in an unbelievably short time.
BTW.. For those keeping score, Capitol is 60 miles (each way) from my house

DAMN...a brand new Z06 shortblock Glad to hear you got everything back together. The new combo seems to be working rather well for you. How abouts some dyno numbers? If not for you, for the rest of us, just to see, I know they arent everything, but.....

What people don't know is he probably leaned it out on purpose to kill the stock motor... I can hear it now: "Honey, the motor done blowed up on me, so, I gotta get me another one. Honey, yes, I am putting another one JUST like it back it. Honey, yes, I love you, snookems."
Now, a year from today..."Honey, the motor done blowed up on me, so, I gotta get me another one..." At that point, he'll have a 427 or so in the works. Great to get your 10. Take care. Dave

Thanks everyone!
Tony, seriously leaning towards some slicks The converter should be good.. for now Currently 26x11.5 ET Streets and a Yank TP-4200.
Lynda, I've seen that alot. Hook better and run a lower mph.. Really can't compare alot between those 2 runs.. completely different launch technic. I need to learn how to drive it with the new HP
LOL.. umm Dave, I'm single. The Formula is the only thing that controls my $$$
