Default Looking for input on better 60's. Trying different tires.

Hello. Made the switch from MT/ET dr's to MT/ET streets [ bias ply ] after inconsistant 60' times on the dr's.
I am on stock suspension, other the front swaybar being removed.
My problem was, that one run would be a good launch, with a low 1.6 60',
and the very next run would be tires blowing up out of the hole.
Same pre-run procedure everytime. Water box, get some smoke rolling off of the tires, roll out of the box, and stage.
I had my best launch's when I flashed the converter, like hitting the gas pedal hard, maybe 1/2 way to the floor, then as soon as the car started rolling, mash it.
So I picked up a pair of MT/ET streets, the bias plys.
I have them mounted on the stock 16" rims, and I have been driving them around a bit as I heard they can be twitchy if your running radials up front.
[ side bar] They drive just fine on the street btw, no side to side swaying at all.
So I am looking for some experienced advise for getting these tires to work for me.
Along with the mods in my sig, I am spraying a 100rwhp shot.
I am running 22psi on the street.
What about track pressure?
Footbrake or flash the 'veter?
