Good runs man 4.10s/26x10 ET Drags should give you a solid .1/1mph over the setup you have now. For reference i run that combo and cross the traps at 6500-6600 rpms. The only drawback is that you will need a good hooking track to make it launch solid and a nice suspension because the 4.10s with the PT 4400 off the line will make your eyes roll back in your head not to mention how hard it pulls in 3rd gear.

I would like to get some PP 5.3 heads soon but i got a good feeling i can jump into the 10.90 range cam only late this year with what im going to be doing in the next few months,so i think im going to stay cam only for a little while longer to see what my new setup will do.

Congrats on the great results!! Don't worry about the Patriot bashers, they do this in just about every thread.

Yeah, who "bashed" Patriot? Who are "they"? Give us your unbiased opinion, Jason. If he ran 11.45 @ 3500 lbs with a 1.62 60ft, and then removed 150lbs (~.15 improvement) and cut a .10 better 60ft time (~.10 improvement), wouldn't you tend to think that he should have run ~11.20 or so? (11.45-.25=11.20) So, all else being equal, he picked up ~.03 with the addition of S2 heads, less than impressive, IMO. In the thread where I was "bashing", I also stated that "those were "shakedown" passes, he may run better with more tuning/runs".

Spanky, take it easy there.

He ran 11.37 at 117+ cam only. I am assuming that was NOT at 3500 lbs. I figure the car weighed the same as it did when he made the H/C run, about 3350.

11.37 at 117+ cam only
11.17 at 120+ H/C.

I could be wrong about the weights, so maybe he'll clarify it for us.

Says in his post he removed the weight yesterday, so I'm assuming all previous runs, especially the ones being used for direct comparison to this one (the 11.45 @118 1.62), were at the ~3500 weight. If I'm wrong, cool. But if hes happy in picking up ~.28 from S2 heads, a 150lb weight reduction, more tuning, and a .10 better 60 ft time, that's all that matters, congrats! IMO thats not a very good gain, but its not my car or my $$$.

I'm takin' it easy. Just don't like it being insinuated that I'm a "basher" when I'm simply stating my opinion.

To clarify,

11.37 @ 117.6 (1.54), slicks, cam only, 3300#
11.45 @ 118.0 (1.62), drag radial, h/c 3500#
11.17 @ 120.9 (1.52), slicks, h/c 3325-3350#

Like I said earlier, I am happy w/the gains (30+hp). The timing is at 28 and still a tad on the rich side. I still may be leaving some power on the table. What would it dyno w/a locked 'verter? 400 maybe? Who cares? I don't race on a dyno. I am not interested in the dyno smack talking.

But, I will race in the F/S class at the NvS and Thunder event. Will I be the #1 qualifier? Not even close, but I will DRIVE the car to the track, swap tires and have fun.

Spanky, how many different h/c combos have you had? Have you even been to the track w/any of them? Just wondering.

If you're happy, congrats, thats all that matters. Shouldn't matter what myself or any other PP "basher" thinks or says. Good luck, Shawn

Thank you, and thanks to everyone else for the congrats.

I know I could use more gear and cam, but after the roll bar goes in the mod money will be gone. I'm just gonna enjoy the car and do lots of bracket racing this year. Next year, I may do the 12-bolt and cam upgrades.

Just pointing out the guys that get in every post & talk down Patriot's positive threads... The bottom line is if he's happy & he's fast then all is good. I dont care what anybody says a 222 cam'd car running low 11s is awesome!!!
