Is a tune gonna help that much? 98 Z28 A4....02 stock long block hooker super comp Lt's slp 2.5in ory slp loudmouth cat back slp lid and some kind of ram air(on the car when I bought it) it looks like a good kit and a 3600 vig 2.5STR stock 3.23 gear....car ran a 8.52@83 2.06 60ft on street tires....but the thing is with just the lid ram air and cat back it went 8.72@83 2.07 60ft...it feels strong in first but dead after it shifts to second...is the computer pulling power bc of the stall? I would've expected more of a gain by just the headers and ORY. New to the automatic ls cars so any input would be great. Thanks
Those 323 are killing you when I had them in my z I had head intake and a few other mods my buddy with 373 and stock everything else would get me on take off and I come back at the end.. I got 373s now and did a t56 swap like it way better
Yes a tune will help even a completly stock car. You probably won't notice much till you get some tires on it, at least in the 60' but it will run better and make more power. When you change the amount of air running through the engine you also need to setup the pcm to compensate for it. Like said above gears will also help.
Yes a proper tune will help and make a big difference.My last 02 Camaro SS A4 went 13.36 bone stock then i just put a P&P TB and a Hypertech Hand tune and went 12.87 the next week.
As everyone else said..a tune will help. Are you sure it isn't already tuned from the previous owner? I would spend money on a set of good drag radials first though and see what it does. You should pick up a good bit.

I know I'm lacking in the 60' what bothers me is the lack of mph. Tires will make a tremendous impact I'm sure since I have to baby it or it blows the tires off. No I'm pretty sure the car isn't tuned at all only mods when I bought were the lid, ram air kit, and a Flowmaster muffler I've done the other stuff. The lack of power in second is my biggest concern. With the stall the shift extension is 5000. So will the computer pull timing, fuel,etc thinking it's slipping?
