Foot brake / bracket race
I usually tried to be around 2500 or so, but it depends on how loose/tight your converter is.
As far as dialing the car in there's TONS of little tricks to winning. What are you planning on running as far as class? Footbrake/NoE or Street?
Being in a street car it's not going to be as consistent as a lot of the other cars out there for sure. It may be easier to "hold" a couple in your pocket. What I mean by this is let's say you can run a 12.50 (1/4 mile). When you go into first round dial a 12.51-12.53.
This way your car SHOULD run fairly close to your dial, you'll just have to "whomp" it to make sure you don't break out. This will also let you catch up to your opponent quicker or make your opponent not to catch you, in this case they will usually let you take the stripe and in this case you can "dump" it before the stripe.
Like I said there's many ways to go rounds, main thing is to have a consistent routine. I could go on and on with tips, but there's also a lot of luck that go into bracket racing.
Good luck!
