Default How to make sure I run an 11?

I havent been to the track in quite a while but its been a goal to run an 11 with my car. My old best was 12.1@128 i believe on my cammed ls1, street tires, and 100 shot.

I would like to run an 11 without gearing my car too much towards drag racing and preferably keeping my 10bolt. The the old owner of my h/c/i ran a low 10 but his car was set up for straight drag racing.

I now have a 404 ls2 w/ fast 102/102, ported l92s, big cam, full boltons. M6, 3.42s, 275 nitto drag radials. Little bit of weight reduction.
I dont have nitrous hooked up at the moment.
I assume i should have the power and reasonable traction to pull off the goal of an 11second pass but is there anything else i should try thats cheap/easy to guarantee the goal.

Unhook the front sway bar. But you should have plenty of power to get to the 11's. Get those nitto's really hot too.

Obviously the 3.42s and Nittos are not optimal but my guess is that you're worried about the 10 bolt and not leaving hard enough. What are your 60' times? Anything below 1.8 sec should put you well into the elevens.

I actually think the 3.42s are perfect for this setup i bet i will trap about the same as on nitrous w/ the 404, letting me cross the line at the end of 4th.
I never got a good 60 footer on street tires so hopefully the nittos help.
I will pull the swaybar off and knock a little weight off, hopefully will report back in spring with an 11.

With that MPH you should have been able to hit 11s on accident.

I've run several 11 sec passes at 111mph and my car is not setup with drag suspension at all. It leaves flat as a board. Just put a badass tire on it, heat it up well, and go on a night where they actually have track prep. I can't imagine running a 12 at 128 with anything less than a 2.6 60ft. Figure out how to make the car leave.

At 128 mph you will be below 5800 rpm - hardly the "end of 4th". The 3.42 gears are not perfect. One of the reasons so many love their T-56 is they can have 4.11 rear gears and still cruise at highway speeds below 2000 rpm.
