Default 2013 new setup

So I previously had this thread:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-raci...?highlight=grr

stock bottom, notched pistons
EPS 238/246.608 111+3
ported 243s at 47cc 12.95:1 compression
BBK 1.75" headers, 2.5" ORY , 3" borla
LS1 intake, SD tuned
stock trans, PTC 3800 1.8STR
10 bolt 4.10s
295 mickeys
stock suspension, LCA brackets and ST lowering springs only mod.
3400# raceweight

This was a far from optimised setup as I was doing it a little at a time, I am very impressed it ran this good with the **** intake and exhaust setup.

That was fun but im changing some things since the deals are incredible right now
I tore down the LS1 to sell it off

Did notice the headgaskets were seeping a little on 2 cylinders, stock GM MLS gaskets 80# and I did not retorque. This was expected with the heads so thin so I guess I will ahve to see if it seals or not with a Cometic and 95# with a retorque

So I picked up a LS3 block
stock crank
Scat 6.125 h-beams
Mahle 4.075 -4cc pistons
4.085x.040 Cometics
same cam and heads as before (and LS1 intake AGAIN! ****!)
14.2:1SCR, 10.2 DCR

Then I picked up a FLT level 5 trans, and stepping back up to about a 5000 stall. When I get time it will have a vic jr and 2" headers, dual 3" aluminum exhaust. I dropped some more weight and will take more out in the spring, PA racing K member and cutting some metal out. Should be 3280-3300# raceweight with me and full of fuel.

Nice thing is after selling off what I had, and having this running again with the existing intake and exhaust setup, the LS3 and trans will have set me back only about $1500! Hoping to run 10.99@125 as is and 10.30s@130+ when its finished

I wish I had money to waste so I could just send you my vic jr/accufab setup so you'd quit using that damn pos ls1 intake and I could go to a supervic.

BTW I'm back on pump gas and my injector duty down the track is 64% on pump 93 with these 55lbers@58psi, so I don't think these are enough for e85. I still want to get a larger set and go back to the corn as I went 1.5 tenth's faster on motor with it in hot and muggy weather. Had a -24da last night at the track!

What did you get for injectors for this new motor?

Depends on how much you milled. I cut -.140 in the pistons and the heads are milled .130 or so. It was still tight but I think this cam would barely fit a stock long block

Got the shortblock back from the machine shop, looks pretty good!

Picked up a super victor and fuel rails, that should be worth another 50hp over the ls1 intake! Going to have to keep the exhaust setup for now though, think I need a 12 bolt first and some big injectors

Super Victor!!!!!

80#/ 850cc injectors, this with the dual walbros should be more than enough CORN

Cleaned up the harness, took it apart and did it all up in nice heat shrink sleeving, I HATE PLASTIC LOOM

Today Im finishing up removing the 1/8" of chamber around the valves for the larger bore, that is going to free up allot of CFM from the heads. Another .005 cleanup mill on them this week and I can make it a longblock

Got the longblock together this weekend. Need to get a couple small parts and have the intake milled this week.

I'm interested in the results. Would figure that head milling would kill the chamber efficiency.

don't come to this site much anymore but as an update:

I hate 4th gens, always have but they work and are cheap, which is why I kept buying them. I wanted another stick car and knowing t56's it had to be light. So I parted out this car and crushed it, and am putting the LS3 and a t56 in a 84 RX7, should be around 2600# and make 550whp or so on motor.

I found a suitable roller for a great price and picked it up, 84 gs In the great blue I like. This happened on may 15th 2013

It's in Good shape with the only rust being in front of the rear tires and the upper control arm/wheel well area.
At this point I laid out doing 5 lug, brakes, and modding the steering and oil pan. **** THAT. Picked up a complete tII front suspension and steering column.

That was done as well. At this point I gathered 2 8.8s and shortened one with 3.73s and limited slip, and installed that.

I settled on gto engine stands so I would have a vertical plane to adjust engine height, or to add rubber mounts. So I welded up some pads on the subframe and use a stack of washers as my solid mount, I will make aluminum spacers next time it is out. At this time I also built a quick battery box.

For the trans crossmember I cut the factory mount bubbles off and reattached them toward the rear. The crossmember is a piece of bent pipe, this give me allot of exhaust room and again a vertical plane for adjustment of height.

In my camaro I ran bbk 1.75" headers 2.5" y and a single 3" exhaust, it was terrible. I knew that with the proper exhaust I could get around 540whp, but good luck finding it premade. So I ordered everything and got to work.

Headers are 1/2" flanges, because I hate leaks, and 2" 16ga stainless. Collectors are slip on 2"/3" velocity merge ebay pieces which are fantastic for the price. Equal length was not going to happen with 2" though I tried, but shortest tube is 27" and longest is 33".
It took probably 9 different layouts to get a good fit and be able to remove the starter etc. I do have to remove the starter and lift the motor to get the pass side in, drivers goes in with one hand.
As you can see they fit like a glove and tuck up very tight, they are not lower than the trans, oil pan, or crossmember.

26x7.5-15 Mickey sportsmans I had laying around on FC 15x6 rims, 34# each total

Washed it today

Howe radiator, hoses done, plugs and wires in, wiring done, brakes almost done. Waiting on front brake hoses and the fuel system currently. It is home in the garage at least to finish small stuff and get it running

finished the exhaust,

Here is a video introducing the car

Turned out very nice, the monster 18# billet flywheel and sintered iron disk are a bit much with this cam though, kind of a bitch to drive. Its under 2800# with driver and a full tank though so I cant complain there, dropped well over 600# vs the f-body

Heres a little flyby. when I go by in the outside view that's 6500 in 4th, with 3.73's, or about 145mph
