its been about 5 years since I was looking for a helmet , at the time my track required a snell 2005 approved helmet , I google searched snell 2005 and bought the cheapest one I found within the first handful of links , maybe try similar ?

BTW at that time I got an open face HJC snell 2005 for $89 shipped

You need to know how fast your car is going to run. If you are 9.99 or below and/or 135 mph or quicker, you will need the following.

SA or MA 2005 or newer full face helmet
3.2A/5 Jacket and Pants (double layer)
SFI neck collar
SFI gloves
Certified cage

I think I covered most of it. You still need to check the rule book.

Absolutely no offense sir... but IMHO there are some things you just dont skimp on. The G-Force Pro Eliminator SA2010 is less than $250 ( I love mine).
I would never put (what is left of) my brain into a used helmet.

I can give you a more indepth detail if you want. Ive been searching a building my list for my dream build for 3 years. Of course it wont be 4000 lbs but id rather over estimate weight
