Six Gear launching advice
I was wondering if any of you six gear specialist could give me a little advice on launching. I still have the stock ten bolt so hard launches are out of the question. My best time was a 12.4 at 125 MPH. You can see clearly here I have the power but my 60 ft. times are rediculous. I can build a car like nobody's business. I tune my own car as well. However I can't drive worth a ****. Can someone give me a few tricks or methods to help me get off the line a little better. We have a track day coming up and I would really like to bust into the 11's. I have the power to get there no dought. I am putting in a set of 4.11's or 3:91's but it won't be before track day. That will make a huge difference but it won't be there for this meet. I was pondering reving up to 2000 or 3000 RPM and ride the clutch untill the clutch is fully released. Anybody out there have any advice for me. I have just run into a brick wall and can't climb it with what I have tried. Thanks guys I know one of you will have a method not yet untilized. I have only made a total of 13 passes in the last three years. I just don't want to tear up a cherry car with clutch dumps to shave a half a second.

A gear swap will really help out. Problem with the M6 and stock 10 bolt, you can really never launch too hard without fear of breaking something. I have some NT05R's and launched them on a sticky track and they dead hooked and took off. I launched between 3000-4000 rpm. It could have blown at anytime and I quit while I was ahead.
With a gear swap, you should be able to launch the car a little bit more gentle but the gear will able to get you the extra few 10th's to maybe break into the 11's. I would go with the 4:10's. Are you on the stock clutch? A good clutch will also help a little as well.
Best bet would be to upgrade the rear end and bolt up some slicks and get your suspension dialed in. A MWC Fab9 or Strange S60 will do the job and you can launch it as hard as the tires and track can handle.

What tires are you running? To be honest if you want to do consistent 11's, the safest way is with an upgraded rear, 9in etc. Without that you have to constant burden of having to baby the car as to not break the 10 Bolt.
With bolt on power after enough passes, my 10 Bolt was toast.
Gears will help you get out of the hole better, but you'll also risk chewing up the rear quicker.
Launch around 3500 and slip the clutch. That should yield you a decent time.

I defended the use of a 10 bolt for about 3 years before i caved and bought a 12 bolt. I clutched dumped at 3-3.5k because it was enough to net me 1.9 60ft bogging down. Anymore and i would just blow the tires (MT ET streets) off the line. Personally, the clutch slips never worked for me, but that doesn't mean if won't for you.
My best at the time was 12.2 @ 114 on a 1.9 60 ft with 405rwhp. From your sig and trap speed you're probably at least a good 50-75hp more than mine, and should go 11s even just rolling out.

Thanks guys! I do have a TDP ( Diamond stage 2 ) clutch, so the clutch should be good. I have been eye balling the S60 for some time. Just not the right time to purchase at present. I will try the slow clutch release this time and see what happens. It can't be any worse than what I am doing. Even with a light clutch dump my 60 ft. times are worse than my roll out times. Getting under a 2.0 60ft. is my nemisis. Hopefully I can get a handle on it this time. Thanks again.

The key is to stage shallow (barely bumping into the second beam), holding
the revs at a steady 4000-4200 (don't worry about reaction time), and
releasing(NOT popping) the clutch quick and steady while simultanaeously
squeezing(NOT smashing) the throttle to prevent it from bogging. These
helped me get a 1.76 short time on the 3.42s and stock clutch @ 3400 lbs.
