Default Do I need longer studs with Racestars?

I just bought some racestars which use the long shank lug nuts. The ones that came with them are threaded top to bottom. My lug studs have all ready been upgraded to the 1/2 inch ones but they aren't the long ones. In order to run the racestars safely do I have to go to a longer stud? I get plenty of thread engagement the way it is I'm just curious as to whether I'm suppose to go with the longer ones. Thanks

You can get away without running longer studs but to be legal per NHRA you need to have long studs. The lug haas to penetrate into the hex portion of the lug nut at least the diameter of the stud.
