why cant these tires hook. Well I went to my local 1/4 track and had my worst run ever. I just could not get my tires to hook like they used to or I am just doing something wrong. I am currently running 265/40/18 mt et street radials and tried just a small burnout to a big burnout on the next run and I got a best of 2.01 on a 60' and 12.7@125. They're only a year old and like 3k miles on them. When i first bought them they hooked fine. Maybe time for some real slicks

I can't say the track wasn't prepped since the 8 sec cars were hooking just fine. My last run was about a year ago was 10.7@129 with a 1.7 60' and the tires hooked pretty good. Temp was mid 60's low humidity and tires I started at 18psi then went up to 22 psi and dragbags were set to 18 to 20 psi. Its an auto and 3400 stall.
I use to run the M/T radials, they are what I call a rich mans tire. Not because of the cost new but the amount of time it takes to wear them out before you need new ones. Set of slicks lasts me 3x as long. I think your tires are just shot
