well here, look at his rims vs your fiskes, probably a 10lb difference per rim easily thats 40lbs.
+ 60-65lbs in front seats alone over you
+ 29lbs for the rear seats
+ 20lbs in seatbelts/bolts
+ 40lbs in carpet
That right there is already is approx 194lbs
now if he has no radio, he probably doesn't have speakers either
so add an additional
+5lbs for stereo
+7lbs for speakers
+spare tire/jack probably? 38lbs
+ plastic panels/airbags? that adds up pretty quick...
+ weight of racebrakes...those were pretty substantial irrc
that already accounts for 244lbs without the weight of the brakes and plastic paneling; and then just how far does he mean by no interior? airbags/console/door panels/dash etc...you could probably add an additional 100lbs to that 244 quite quickly.
Then the difference can be seen in options on the car AND just exactly what peoples definitions are of deleting things...so for example, when someone says they deleted A/C...do they mean they took out just the compressor? compressor+rad+canister? all that + the big piece in the firewall? all that + all wiring associated?
The biggest problem when people say they removed certain pieces is the consistency in what one person means when they removed something versus the next person. I think that's why there is always such a variance when people then go to the scales and say "I only removed xxx, xxx, and xxx"

When I started this thread, I was at work and typing on an iphone, also first time typing on a phone. So I kept my posts short. I've been working alot of O.T. this week, so really could not respond back.
What I was really trying to say was, how lite can you get a stock f-body car to, by just removing all the weight from the car itself. Keeping the stock k-member, brakes, and glass.
And the people posting these low weights, have you put your car on a scale or just guessing the weight, by these weight reduction stickies.
Not trying to get any **** started, but ....
My car is a '99 Trans Am WS6. I have gutted the interior, removed everything else you don't need for a race car only, inside and out. Hope to get it running and to the scales very soon. Just wondering about how much it's going to weight. Last time I weight it, it was in stock from or very close to stock form and weight 3315 lbs.

I have had my car on scales at several different tracks and it has been within ten pounds. Could be fuel quantity or just calibration of the scales.
I don't know what it would have weighed with a stock kmember but with the factory glass, two stock nonpower seats, factory carpet, and the stock ws6 hood it was 2960lbs. This was also before the minitubs and some wire removal.

Well, I guess the first stop I will be making is to the scales. I have removed quite a bit of stuff and replaced every piece of suspension on the car. I even have Weld RT-s wheels. It would be pretty baller to get down below 3,000lbs without me in it.

I'm thinking my car is around 3100 lbs now as it sits. Still have the factory bumper supports, headlite buckets, door bars and lots of brackets that need to go.
Hoping to get alittle more out, goal is getting it as lite as I can with the stock k, glass and brakes.

I don't understand why my car is so heavy compared to the rest of yours. I have a full tubular front suspension including k-member, VFN hood, stock brakes, Wolfe 6pt chromoly cage, every suspension piece in the rear is MWC chromoly, MWC 9", PST aluminum driveshaft, full interior still, no A/C or front bumper support and cut the lower radiator support off. Weighed with 3/8 tank of gas and 18" Fikse's it was 3340lbs without me. Wtf.

And all this time I thought I needed to buy more go fast parts!! I just need a sawzall, a hole saw, some wrenches and a big trash can!!! LOL!!! Those are some amazing weights, makes you think about spending more on weight reduction than high$$ speed parts! OP thanks for asking this, it's a real eye-opener!! Larry
