It is also easier on parts. I have been a 9.97 with my stock driveshaft. Try that with a 3800lb raceweight!

Just drove mine back from the scale. It was 2900 pounds without me last year. This year after adding speedglass front & rear, pin-on fiberglass hood, manual rack, manual brakes, strange drag brakes front & rear w/drop spindles it weighs 2720 pounds now.

I'm happy with the 180 pound loss, but I was hoping for more
The 2720 is still with the 28" radial street tires and MT S/R radial fronts on Prostars.

Looked it up.

Street setup:
MT S/R 26x6x15 = 20lbs each
Cooper Cobra GT 275/60/15 = 31lbs each

Track setup:
26" Moroso DS-2 = 12lbs each
MT 28x10.5S ET Drag = 24lbs each

Track setup is 30lbs lighter.

I am running some heavy duty components. Iron block and 4l80e and a full on blower system.

I am taking out everything I can, and I just sold my seats and I am getting ready to buy the new ones and new carpet to install after the CM cage is in. I pray I can get down to at least 3300 lbs with radio and stock glass.

That would be with

HVAC delete
windshield wipers motor
bumper supports
K member
Big and lils
Rear seat delete
front seat swap (two corbeaus 20lbs)
speed inc carpet
antenna motor
spare tire and jack
lighter radiator
single 16"" fan w/sheetmetal shroud
AIR and Pump delete
Carbon Fiber Driveshaft
Madman Suspension
ABS delete
Lightweight spool.
Air bags are gone

If I hit 3300 with me in it I know I can run 8's. I am still up in the air on the radio. I like to rock out. I am also looking into the speed glass for the rear hatch. I am unsure if speed glass would roll up with my automatic windows.

Mine is 2981 without me.
All 4 stock seats, radio and speakers. Open headers, drag lites with radials. Stock non-ramair hood too.
I could easily have it in the 2850 range with an aluminum block and pulling the seats.
Let alone doing drag spindles and brakes front/rear.

I don't think there are any drag brakes out there that are street oriented as well. My car is still a weekend cruiser on the streets and will stay that way but if there are light brakes out there that are good on the street too I'm all ears.

I have been searching a lot for seats I like and might have settled on the Corbeau Forza's depending on how comfortable they are which should help drop around 25lbs.

I'm not sure how much my Fikse wheels and tires weigh compared to my drag setup.

I'm at at upper 2900's w/o me when in drag form. Mine is still a full on street car with all options. It's my dd. Nothing cut on the main chassis, still has door bars too.

setup.
I am the same way on the brakes. I am not sure how carbon ceramic brakes would compare as far as weight goes, but I am sure they are stupidly expensive.

I went with a set of Corbeaus as well, I chose the FX1 because of the styling compared with the Forzas and they weigh the same as the forza. $498 a seat shipped in black micro suede with the bracket that allows for seat adjustment. It saves 28 lbs in the driver seat. I will have it tuesday and see if the bracket was included in the seats weight to get an accurate reading.

The weight comes off when you sweat the details. Don't think for 1 second that all k-members weigh the same. Some tubular ones are 40+lbs while others are 18lbs. Drag radials weigh a lot more than a slick. Add a set of tubes to the rear and you added 16-18lbs. A DS-2 tire is 9lbs lighter than a skinny radial tire up front. A spooled rear end will shed an EASY 35-40lbs. You don't have to cut anything to get a 4th gen under 3000lbs, just careful selection of parts. You will have to remove a lot of unnecessary stuff, but you can leave the holesaw in the drawer. True duals just off of the headers will drop 15-20lbs over a cat-back setup. A lightweight battery is a must. Go with the braille or oddyssey pc680, both weigh around 14-15lbs.

I'm at 2855 with no driver, 8.50 cert cage & two 16 volt batteries. No cutting except for tubs. Steel spool, steel front bumper, stock front suspension. Last two things required by rules where I race. I'm 235, and have to weigh 3235, so have weight added to that.
No hole saw work. Nothing cut but for the tubs. Still has power windows & rear hatch.

My Trutrac posi in my 12 bolt was 28 pounds, my strange lightweight spool was 8 pounds. 20 pound savings.

My car is at 2860 racing weight without driver.
Got a VFN pin on hood to install, have flat stock steel hood now, but also have a 8 point ms rollbar to add. I have afew more brackets and minor other things to remove, so I think it's going to even out, with adding the hood and rollbar.
