Pin on hood questions
I just bought a bolt on Superhawk hood. Now that I've been reading about the weight savings going pin on I'm wondering if its possible to just drill the holes in the Superhawk hood and make it a pin on? Or is there more to it than that? Like something structural, I've never been around a pin on.

i tired posting about the ws6 hood and making that a pin on and got no answer. VFN makes a pin on hood but i would like to see how people are putting the hood on. I saw the fastners on a few trans am with the rail kit that was custom made.

The bolt-ons are heavier as they have more bracing to support the hinges, shocks and latches. Yes you can make yours a pin on but you aren't going to save as much as some weight is in the hood itself.
A VFN WS6 hood in bolt-on is like 25-26lbs and the pin on is 12-13lbs alone. Just remember you are going to cut the hood and add latches so the fab work is more crucial to make it look good.

Basically a pin on Hood is just the outer layer of what a stock hood is (what you see when the hood is closed)
There is weight to be lost by ditching the hinges and latch on your stocker, but nothing compared to a true pin on hood
