probably, probably, probably not, maybe...tires will help alot with traction if you cant figure out how to launch it well...if your cutting 2.20 or worse 60' times you really should look into new tires, better shifter and maybe work on the launch ALOT...other than that its just seat time.

Get some more practice, and tires will definetely help out your ET's. The best thing since your an M6 is getting used to your car though. Oh, and your trap speed is there, but your ET is not.

What are your 60' times? They must be around 2.3+
For every .1 off your 60' time, discount .15 sec off your ET as a rule of thumb.

when i started last year at the track i had similar problems. I had no horsepower mods and crappy 60' times. It is hard to get them on stock tires(thats why i just got nittos). BUt one other thing that i found at the end of last season was that i was shifting a little too early. But like the guys said nothing helps like practice. Good luck

I read you post with your times on the other thread.
Your MPH seems a bit low. Did they tune your PCM after the header install?

From what I know any long tube install requires tuning as it leans out the A/F ratio.

For comparison I just timed my 2002 SS M6. I am a bit disapointed with the times but I'm running the stock Goodyears so zero traction from the line.

3 passes spinning almost all the way through 1st and the 14.02 included wheel hop

13.92 @ 106.5
13.94 @ 106.5
14.02 @ 106.3

The car is all stock except for MTI Lid. Still have the paper filter in since my Holley powershot is in the mail

I am very happy with the MPH though indicating that the power is there. I figure with drag radials and a few suspension mods my car should run very low 13's easy.

I never drove standard before and with a slipping clutch at the top of 1st gear I managed a 2.2 60" on stock 17 inch BFG tires and a 13.3x @ 106 mph. Dyno and Autotap the car if you think something is physically wrong with it, aside from that ..... to be honest, learn to drive.

When my car had only LT's and a lid, I whittled my times from 13.9 (first time to the track) to 13.01 by shear practice and doing some research on launching. The end result was not stellar, but it was almost a 1 second improvement.
