Default 60' help, skinnies the next step?

My car is completely done as far as drag suspension goes qa1's, tubular everything, drag bar, no front sway, rear battery, no AC, chromoly kmember yada yada yada running 4.11 gears and 26x11.5x15 et streets, I'm dumping off redline with 1.63-1.65 every pass not pulling the wheels but carrying the front end popped with wheel well gap maxed all through 1st gear with 17x9.5wheels/255 tire fronts. Will skinnies get me that extra .1-.2 guys on here with similar setups are getting? What gains going to skinnies 60' wise and mph up top have you experienced? My track does'nt have the best prep but it doesn't seem to be spinning, launches HARD it just doesn't have the results of 1.4-1.5 like many on here are getting....

Dropping it lower doesn't help either, it lifts up and then drops about 30ft out giving a little slower 1.67-1.70, is this the best I can expect with heavy 17's up front?? In theory I'm thinking it should give less rolling resistance and help it move on out faster, but before spending the money I want to hear other people's results if skinnies only helped it pick up top with mph and the backend or gained in their launch as well

It will help through the whole run but I wouldn't expect earth shattering results. It's going to take more than skinnies to get to a 1.4x. A 1.59 maybe but any more than that would be getting greedy IMO.

With autos we want to have the converter just below peak tq. Maybe try some shock adjustments to keep the weight transferred before giving up on a lower launch rpm.

I've messed with them some but all the vids of the fastest t56's seem to do redline dumps unless they are running a wot nitrous system then just below, maybe my 26"/4.11 is spinning more than I think it is too, a 27-28" tire may be what I need to get out better too I'm just afraid of loosing top end from under gearing

I don't know how many good converters you guys have tested with a car that dead hooks, but I know of no fast race car that found a converter that flashes below the torque peak to be as fast. (not on a chassis dyno, those lie about converters)
Everybody I know with the faster NHRA SS cars have gone faster with converters that flash just above the RPM where the torque peaks on the dyno (engine dyno). Example: My peak torque RPM is 5700, car is quickest with the converter that flashes to 6200. Tested good (not off-brand) converters both sides of that.
Tried higher than that, quicker than lower but not quite as fast as this 6200 converter. I have read guys saying they should flash to the torque peak RPM, never seen that quite as quick either. We pretty much all use ATI or A1 converters.

It seems here on the east coast most of the fast M6 cars are running 4.56 gears and a big tire (27" or 28"). Also your dyno #s seem low for that setup! My cam-only car ETs better than that and its a 12yr old setup with an Ed Wright mail order tune!! Thanks Ed!!!

Yeah density altitude and 3600 race weight, I do wish I would have gone 4.30/28" instead of 4.11/26", 4.56/28" would be to much, I'd be at redline every pass, no room to grow with that
