255/50/16 drag radial on nitrous car
Hello everyone. Currently I'm running a cammed ls1 (397 rwhp) through an m6. I just put the jug on it and am running a 150 shot plate. Right now I am using a 305/35/18 555r and it surprisingly works quite well in the street. However, at the track it absolutely does not work. I blow the tires off at almost any speed. I was spinning at 100mph even with a good burnout on the 555r radials. I ended up running a 12.6 at 119 . Keep in mind this car has gone 11.80s on motor at 116 mph.
I am looking to now put a set of dedicated track tires on my stock 16" wheels. I would prefer not to buy a pair of 15s, I'd like to stay with the factory 16x8 wheels. My question is, will a Hoosier 255/50/16 work for me? It seems as if people prefer the Hoosiers over the MTs in this particular size. What does everyone think? Not enough tire? Or is it worth a shot? Thank you everyone for the help!

Im with them. Im a i have a bolt on auto with 100 dry shot and im about at the limit of the 255/50/16 MT ET radials. Basically never know when its gonna grab or spin off the line but thats with mid to low 1.5 60' times. Being a 6 speed just go with a true slick.
