Default Truck block, 5.3, How large can I bore it???...

I wanted a 6.0 but way hard to find in my area for a decent price.... SOOOO, How far can I bore a steel 5.3 truck block as I have several LQ9 piston/rod sets.... Will this work???... This will be drag strip only engine...never too see the street. If I do this, I'm sure I'll need the 6.0 head gasket, any particular one? I want to keep the compression as HIGH as I can...I am Gen 3 ignorant. IF this is possible ?.... Looks like I could step up to some bigger valved heads?, any you prefer?. Mike

You not going that far out to get to 4.000 to get those LQ9 pistons in there. I have heard of many guys going to ls1 specs of 3.898 on a 5.3 iron block or going a lil further of maybe 3.905 or 3.908 to put a forged overbore piston in there.

Most I've seen like above is LS1 specs, that's as far as Texas Speed and Thompson Motorsports do
