Default Trans temp guage without drilling ?

I had a buddy of mine tell me that there's a wire going to trans that I could splice into and get a trans temp reading if I just buy the guage ? Is that true I don't feel like pullig the Pan again and I don't wanna do the T that autometer has

It's a yellow and black wire that's the trans temp

4l80 has built in sensor. Not sure about 4l60. Don't know if it'd read right with aftermarket gauge though

Hmm I saw a spot
I don't have to drill and it should screw in above shifter for sensors
