Default Nhra stock engine rules info

Going through my rule book and it states my engine must be same year and model as vehicle. Does this mean I can run an 01 LQ4/LQ9? Ill take my chances with the stock aluminum block up front. But I was just wondering a little bit..

The block has to be the correct casting number. There are approved replacements for some applications. You need to check the approved parts list on nhra.com.
