Not sure about the 5 point, but according to Wolfe, the CM 6 point weighs 60-65 lbs. The MS 6-point is supposed to weigh in at 90-95lbs.

Any suggestions on a manufacturer?

This is something I will install and weld myself.

I would like to get a ChroMoly set-up.

thanks
THE WOLF IS THE BEST i have one in my car and have helped put 3 others in they fit great. and a 6 point is good to 10.00 9.99 needs a 8 point I do the welding on all our cages pay the extry and get them to notch it for you save a lot of time and chrome molly has to to be TIG welded and mild steel has to be MIG or TIG to be NHRA leagal my car is a 95 ta and NHRA certified to 8.50 . Also go to wolferacecraft.com they have install pics

Is there any rules about having a bolt in? What are the cons of the bolt in vs the weld in?

You only need a 5-point bar from 11.99 to 10.00 in a non-convertible (the passenger side bar is optional, and either door bar can be a swing-out). This is of course provided you have no floor, frame or firewall mods to your car (wheel tubs or mini-tubbing is allowed). I choose to leave the passenger bar out of my car b/c it allows for easier access to under dash on that side with no bar in the way, and even if you get a swing-out and unbolt it, it's still a PITA compared to no bar. Most guys get them for chassis stiffness, but I'm running subframe connectors already. This is another point of why to weld instead of bolting: for chassis tie and stiffness.
However, you are allowed to bolt-in a rollbar.
The 2004 NHRA rulebook quotes: Unibody cars with stock frame and firewall may attach rollbar with 6-inch x 6-inch x .125-inch plates on top and bottom of floor bolted together with at least four 3/8 bolts, or weld main hoop to rocker sill area with .125 reinforcement plates, with plates welded completely.

As mentioned these are NHRA rules, I believe IHRA requires a 5-point bar at 11.50 to 9.50 with the same requirements on frame, floor and firewall restrictions.
