Default First time running this car @ the track

I finally got a chance to run the car in my sig this week and I was having traction issues with it. My best was a 12.23 @ 113mph with a 1.8 60ft. I was wondering if I could get a few pointers from you guys. All my mods are in my sig, and here are a few things you should know:

-Lower control arms are set in bottom hole of relo brackets
-Torque arm is set in lowest position on relo crossmember
-Pinion angle is at -2*
-CE shocks are set at 50/50
-Drag radials are at 17psi

Any help getting my 60 ft down would be much appreciated!

Also today I just ordered a set of Viking front dual adjustable shocks w/300lb springs to see if that will help.

What is your rear gear (sorry if I missed it)? Front adjustable shocks should help some. Try break torque/flashing the convertor at different rpms to find what it likes. When you make adjustments only make one at a time and try 2-3 runs for each adjustment.

Something seems off with your mph - 410 at the rear wheels and those mods should mph higher then 113.

It has 3.23 gears. I tried to stall the converter up and launch it, but it spun the tires even worse than just stabbing the gas from idle. I thought the same about the mph.

Something is way off with your car op. Your running bolt-on times.

I found mine like about 1500 rpm at the line and flashing the converter on the last yellow.

Have you tried loosening you rear to flex more, or lowering the pressure?

Yep you read that right. I wheel hop like crazy at 26 PSI. Chased the issue of inconsistency for awhile, adjusting suspension... getting new shocks... wasting my time.. Finally I realized if I kept tire pressure at 25 I didn't have an issue. Dead hookin even on street night with bare minimum prep.

Could the weather or running low tire pressure have something to do with my mph? The DA was around 2000ft.

I'm not sure about your Toyo's but my MT DR's like mid 20's for pressure. I've run them as high as 28 PSI on hot days and good track prep. Did you happen to try more pressure?

I would expect our cars to run similar. In average DA 11.80s is a fair assessment. In good air (under 1000ft but above sea level) I have ran some 11.67-11.68s on a 1.72 60ft

I started at 30psi and worked my way down 2-3psi at a time till I got to 17psi. I'm thinking that the air and low tire pressure is part of the problem with my trap speed. I'm guessing that the traction issues are more suspention related than anything.

What was your mph for the 11.80 run?

Mine on the 11.80 pass was 93mph 1/8th and 114mph 1/4 but the car traps consistently lower than Fbodies in the 1/4 (likely due to aero and a 2-3 shift issue which has been fixed).

When the car was cam only and heavier it ran 12.24@111.5 MPH on a 1.68 60ft in cool air.

Well, I am heading to the track today to see how the car works now! I have installed the Viking DA front shocks as well as adjusted my torque arm up to the second to top hole in the relo bracket to change the instant center. With the new front shocks installed, I am going to try running more air pressure in the rear tires then the 17-18 PSI I was running before. My goal is to hopefully lower my 60' and pick up some mph as well. Stay tuned...

2000 DA isn't awful. Have you compression checked the motor to verify everything is running as it should?

Do you have a scanner on it that you can verify to see if any timing is being pulled on the run? Sometimes stupid things that can rattle or shake against the engine and you don't notice but your KR sensors do and they kill your timing...
