Default Shock adjustment settings

Im a newbie on this and would like to understand how/what should I set my shocks to and how to adjust them with what the car is doing on the drag strip. I have Viking DA on the front and QA1 SA on the rear.

Thanks
Jason

Have you done any initial setup and testing yet? I have the Viking fronts - 0 on the rebound, 13 clicks on compression. If the front end wheel stands to high tighten the rebound. If the front end comes down to quickly unloading the rear suspension and spinning after the launch, stiffen compression.

In the rear I run 3 ways, so couldn't tell you much except I run them at 50/50. You don't want the rear end to squat, but rather you want the rear tires to drive into the pavement without the suspension hopping.

If you are in the mid 10's ET wise it shouldn't be to hard to get the suspension working. Optimized - well I am in the same boat as you there. Looking forward to hearing some stuff on this from the more experienced.

Hopefully going out today to tune it. Right now I have the fronts on 2 rebound 8 compression. The rear I have at 5.

for the vikings on the front, if your just driving on the street i would set them at 9c 9r. For drag racing i would get the rear dial in and then do the fronts. For myself i have the fronts on 12c 3r when drag racing (this is with a auto)

Finally got it to the track. Settings were 2 rebound and 12 compression and 5 on the SA in the rear.

nice times, did you have a chance to make any changes at the track? Keep playing with it and you'll be in the 1.4x's pretty quick

FWIW my full weight car with SA shocks would 1.47-1.49 with the fronts set at 0

Made 4 passes and was in line for #5 adjusted them more and started hearing a sound coming from the transmission. Looks like the flex plate is broke or the bolts are loose.

Planning on tightening them up some. Broke the flex plate. Went ahead and put a 3e Circle D converter on it also.
