Tach or Shift Light
My 6 speed car came with a raptor led shift light hidden in the vent on the left above the stereo , I look where I am going instead of at guages and shift when it illuminates. I backed it down a bit from the previous owner to 5800 which has me shifting around 6100 , high enough for 237,000 mile stock valve springs lol

I was set on getting a full tach and light until my friend picked up a Harlan shift light. I got one too instead, hidden in the pillar vent left of the windshield. works great and i love it (but i dont think you can have 2 shift points set.)
I can understand why you would want 2 separate shift points, even with the 3.42's in my TH400 H/C car i had to lower my shift light a bit just for that first shift. but all you really need to do is realize to hesitate for the last shift.
I know for the harlan and probably any shift light/tach you install. To save a possible headache, make 100% sure that you successfully crimped into the tach signal wire before you try to test it out.

for your 99' i believe that is correct. mine was different on my 98'. I actually ended up having to take a razor blade knife and very very carefully cut away some of the wire coating (they are so thin) and then splicing into it.
