What size wire do you use?
Really need 1/0 gauge.

1 gauge should work, maybe battery playing out.
Put another battery in and see what happens.

ok ..Im gonna do my best to fix this ..use a ford starter relay ...positive in ..and positive out to the post on the starter ...jump a 12 gage wire from the postive post on the starter to S terimanal on the starter ..the original Purple 12 gage goes to the small terimnal on the ford Noid..i mount mine under the dash on the drivers side ..my car has a 13.5 to 1 BBC chevy and has zero cranking issues ...a neg cable from the battery to the chassis ..then chassis to block is needed as well

Leave you current grounding wires, but run a cable from the chassis post in the rear to the chassis post in the front and try it.

Are you using a cut off switch? This could be an issue as well. I had one that was defective and the car wouldn't start. Replaced the switch and everything worked fine.

That's what we did back in the day. When the solenoid got hot from the headers
and would not crank back after you just cut the car off.
I don't think that is his problem.
I think he has a weak battery and not getting enought
voltage to the starter, with the battery in the back of the car.

the issue is not the positive cable, its the lack of an adequate negative cable.

Could u explain blown06. On my car I have 4 ground cables coming off the block two on each side, at the battery I have 3 neg cables all the same size one on each side and one at the back. Would a bigger neg cable be better.

I had the same issue with mine when I did this. I fought and fought and finally tested the battery and it was weak. Put a new optima in it and boom, fired right up. I was using 0ga wire too. I'm not sure why but if your battery is weak, a relocation will let you know. Guess its all the extra resistance from the long cable. Idk.

The negative coming from the battery to the chassis needs to be just as big as the positive IMO. Seems to work best.

The neg cable needs to be as big as the pos cable.

Using 2ga....zero problems. Make sure your connections, ground, etc are good.
