Who is running a 17 drag radial??
Unfortunately I'm racing at the crummy 1/8 tear down track ... Qualcomm's Race Legal, but I'm running Hoosiers DRs 275/40/17... waaaaaay better than street tires... but with my suspension mods... i'm only netting a 2.0 60ft. i know i should be close to a 1.6 60ft.
Who is running the m/t ET street radials 275 40 17s? I'd rather not buy 15in wheels/tires yet if ppl are having good results with m/t 17in DRs. My car is a stick so..
IF you have a fbody 6spd and running those m/t DRs... please let me know your 60ft results and what rear shock are you running.
Thank you
Charlie
my suspension mods... tunnel mt tq arm, 3 pt sfc, lca, adj phb, slp springs 3/4in lowered. bilstein shocks in fronts agx gas adjust in rear. they are weak so thought it would work better for squatting.. poly sway bar end links, stb.

What is your tire pressure? When I ran my old nitto DR's I used to get them down to 14psi cold. John Force burnout then quickly stage. This netted an average of low 1.8's with a best of 1.74 on a 17's.
Are you preloading the drivetrain? This helps reduce the shock to the tires.

1.7 60ft on 275 40 17 nt05rs. Have a 9 in with spohn lca and tunnel mount torque arm. 18psi with not a huge burnout. Dead hooked. Stock height stock shocks leaving at about 4k

Everything I've read says that M6 cars do better with a bias ply tire. For the track I run a MT ET Street 26x10.5-16 on stock steel wheels, without inner tubes (weighs 8-9lbs less than my TTM/275-17 radial street setup per wheel). 1.81 60' stock suspension with only BMR lca relo brkts, 13 psi launching at 3500-4k no spin. The bias ply sidewall even in a 16" is very forgiving, really feels planted. If you're just going to use them at the track look into a bias ply and keep the DRs you have for the street.

That might be your problem. For the rear to work correctly you want to the rear to stay neutral. Squatting is bad as it unloads on the tires and causes wheel spin. If you can try and stiffen up the rear.

well i still have a 10 bolt lol but was thinking of the mt et bc they are 2 ply and i have plenty of 17in matching wheels lol if i get another set of wheels it would be 15inchers

While in gear and the clutch pedal to the floor. Slowly lift the pedal until the car starts to move. Then push it down slightly. Hold it there until the tree comes down.
Not the greatest for clutch life but it helps traction with a stick car and a hard sidewall tire.
