Default Kirkey Seat bolt in brackets?

Anyone know if a racecraft bracket will work fine for a 21'' big boy kirkey? I see options up to 18'' but not the 21'' seat.

I have this seat

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-KIRKEY-B...-/290603247782

its a big seat thats for sure. I fit in it with a little room to spare but I already have it so i want to use it.

I don't think they would work with a 21" wide seat. I have the Racecraft brackets on 18" Kirkey seats, The holes in the bracket that mount to the floor studs are pretty much maxed out width wise. I had to use the 1/2" spacers that comes with the brackets to get it all to line up. 21" seat would need 3"+ spacer.

I may be stuck having to fabricate a bracket. I can always just bend something up. It doesnt have to be fancy.

I think its a 17 wide seat the offset they brackets are made for. Then for a 16, the spacers on the inside of the alum plates to the seat, 18 you space the alum plates off the lower metal floor brackets. 21 would be a lot of spacers, and it would be really tight, If you need a seat that big for you. I would look into doing a non stock door panel like a wolfe alum, or the CF so you can run the door bar wider. And the center console isn't going to fit, I dont think, you could maybe cut the sides off were the seat is in the way?
I would just jet a 18 and bend it wider, thats the way to go.

Yeah I thought I was bigger than I really am when I ordered it . I could squeeze into an 18'' I believe. The 21 fits me with quite a bit of room to spare. I may order another for me and put this 21'' in the passenger side.

you want to be tight in the seat, if you move around, you will get hurt when you crash

also get a pro street drag, not the economy or a a circle track seat with the wrap around

I'm 6' 165. I have the 16" wondered if the 17 would have been a better option. What are you guys running size wise on the kirkey for the passenger side?

I am thinking about running twin 18'' kirkeys. The 21 is pretty large. I might just make it into a computer chair.

why not the circle track one? because hes using it for drag racing only or it wont fit in a vette (assuming vette with his user name). or is it not worth it.

Kirkeys are not going in my vette. I have a SS camaro that they are going in. I ordered the 18'' kirkeys and I HOPE i can squeeze my *** in them! I just need to find a bracket for them. The racecraft are NICE but 100$ a piece is hard to swallow when you spent 160$ each on the seats and the bracket to mount them is 60$ less than the seat!

The 18" will be a tight fit in your camaro. I'd go with the 17". You won't have a problem.

true that, its pretty expensive but youll save some lbs and a better fitting seat for your body. i am desperately seeking some kirkeys and brackets because the stock C5Z seats let you slide around a bit.

i was just more curious why someone told you not to go with the road race version. if it was because you were only drag racing or fitment issues or just not worth it.

Yeah I dont road race but I noticed the c5zs do lack in a bolster to keep you planted in the seat. I thought about swapping to a c6 leather seat.

I dont like the big boy seat cause it makes it harder to reach the shifter. The big boy is a dirt track seat I belive.
