Default Best launch RPM for '02 Z28 w/A4, 3.73s, full bolt ons (no cam/FI) & street tires?

I will be taking my 2002 Z28 to the dragstrip today and I would like to know what is the best launch RPM for my setup. Thank you in advance for any info.

IMO you'll have to play with it some and see what it likes. You could stall it up as high as possible or you can barely bring it off idle and let it flash to its max stall. Street tires aren't going to help

My 2K Z28 didn't like being stalled up as high as possible. I ran my slowest time of the day when I did it that way. Also, I had a 300+ lb guy in the passenger seat on that run.

My best run came from flashing the converter from like 1k. It was a stock converter though.

I went multiple 1.86-1.89 60' by stalling to 800-1000rpm and flashing the stock converter on a street tire.

Best thing to do, like mentioned above, get out there and try a few different methods but I recommend the method I mentioned.

My track always has really good prep though and I don't know how good or bad of a condition your street tires are in.

Have fun and be safe!

People that try to stall them high as they can simply don't understand how torque converters work. They multiply more torque when flashed from a lower RPM.

I am by no means a know it all, but when i went to the track last I had street tires and couldn't hook what so ever. Best 60ft was a 1.99 and I flashed it from 900. Good luck

I agree, nothing will benefit you more than a good set of et street radials or hoosier drag radials
