Be careful of what and how you post things related to this issue. With a good Lawyer it could somehow maybe be twisted and used against you.

Again.... C.Y.A.

I have been working on cars and building race cars for friends for the last 28 years, and this makes me sad! I learned that your reputation is everything! but some people are just about the now money. not realizing that if you treat people fair and right, you will make more money in the long run and more friends!

I would talk to a lawyer, but you still need to give the shop a chance to fix the problems to your level first. if they cannot, then I would put the lawyer into effect.

hope it all works out.

couldnt have said it better myself! i dont expect that shop to fix it though... they had my car for almost 3 years having to send it back twice to them to fix it and after spending 25 grand they stole parts from me messed my car up and broke stuff as well as flat out lied to me! i wouldnt offer them a chance to fix it after the experience i had but thats just me!!

Im with you. but the courts look at thing differently. in your case, you have given them a reasonably amount of time to fix the problem and they have not. so court would be your best option.

the sad part is, even with a judgement against the company. it could take years to get any money from them. and the lawyers make more then you will!

actually i have talked to my lawyer about that before even filing and he stated if i win then there will be a judgement and then proceed to his assets to get my money that is owed to me. also a small known fact that my lawyer also stated that in the state of NC u must get a written estimate for repairs done to your car and if it goes over that estimate the shop is to give another estimate before doing any repairs in writing.it suppose to be a big no no not to give the customer a written estimate before each repair there

Naming the shop would just cause unecessary mayhem.

same thing here. we give a full estimate before any work is performed and the customer has to sign or give auth first. if we do any un-authorized work and try to get payment. the customer can decline the new bill and we are crap out of luck. we can not hold the vehicle for payment either.

if you have the bbb in nc? I would file a complaint with them also. a lot of people check with them before they pick a shop, and a bad rating can cost them money.

that would have been my red flag! if I show up and the bill has changed without my knowledge, I refuse to pay and take my car. if there willing to do it once, I guarantee they will do it again.

Do you have the links? Quick search doesn't pull up anything for me. I'm just curious personally...no other stake in this.
