Default What size drag radials?

Wondering what size drag radials I should get. Going on a 95 T/A with around 440WHP and weighing about 3000 pounds. May get a 150 shot of nitrous later on. This is a car that will get about 5,000 miles a year at the very most. I want the smallest size I can still hook on to save weight. Going on 15 x 8 (or 15 x 10 if needed) Pro stars. Will 235 or 255 be way too small and spin? Or should I get 275, 295, or maybe even 315? I hear the MT's are really sticky so a smaller size might be good enough.

If you're planning to go racing with the M6 '95 a bias ply is the way to go but they're not too good on the street, the sidewall is too flexible. I wanted something for a 16" rim and when I searched I found guys running well into the 10s with a 26-10.5-16 M/T ET Street bias ply. For street duty a DR would be better.

Im going to be on the 10 bolt for a while until I can afford a 12 bolt. Atleast I have 2 spare 10 bolts lol. I was thinking of going with the Nittos mainly to save the rear, or either just get the Mickeys and launch soft. Mystery Bird those are some good times.
Why is bias ply better for an M6 but not an auto?

Everything I have read says a DR doesn't like the shock of a stick shift car and once they break loose they don't recover quickly. A bias ply absorbs the shock better of a manual trans. M/T even recommends a bias ply for a stick car. I really like how my car hooks with the ET bias plies. Best 60' of 1.81 which I know is crap but I'm working on it. I would say do a search on the subject, there's alot of info out there from people that know alot more than me.

Didn't realize you had a stick car. Bias plys are better that application.

Yes, Everything I have read says not to do it. It even says it when you go to buy the tire.

Can't speak from personal experience but I've read about people mixing them w/o problems all the time. Try searching and see what you come up with

As long as radials are on the front you're ok.
This is old school tech. That way if car slides in the rain, you have control on steering it.

I have radials in the back and bias plys up front, but I only drive like that to and from the track which is a 30 mile round trip. My friend has driven with radials up front and bias plys in the back with his stick car for years. Not sure why it's not recommended. I can say that at high speeds you can feel the difference between the two.
