Where the hell is my mph?
My best run was a 11.82 @116.8 with the 231/237 cam. But i see alot of people trapping 119 to 121mph with this cam. Where the hell is my mph? If anybody can find it, please tell em to meet me somewhere. Lol.

whats your 60'? im going through the exact same thing and i think my problem is that im shifting at 6400-6500 and and i should be shifting at 6800-6900 which makes sense since my car peaks at 6500. you gotta be in the next gear about 300-400rpm passed where your peak power is.

I'll second the importance of shift points. Before I installed the new shift light I was only trapping 91.xx in the 1/8th, now I trap 93-94 pretty much every run.
Also what is the altitude of your track, Fred

like fred said....i was trapping a disappointing 113mph before my shiftlight nexted weekend i installed a tach&shiftlight and i trapped 117 with hitting the rev limiter every shift, DA of 2560, 100% full wieght through the full exhaust.
i just found out i should be shifting at 6800-6900 so i got my rev limiter moved to 7100 and got some 4:10s installed. if i can get 120+ with my street trim setup in this wheather ill be happy as hell.

well, IMO for that ET your MPH is not way off, its acceptable. You can't go comparing your car to others with a similar cam, just too many variables. Unless those other cars were racing at that same track on that same day as you it doesn't mean a huge amount.
You might be surprised at what tuning could do for the car, if nothing else it'll help you find the shift points and what RPM you want to be trapping at, which could make you re evaluate your gearing and tire height choices.
You'll get it figured out, let us know

let us know what happens when you go back to the track with higher shift points and DA/weight info. i have a similar cam and trapped 119 at 11.88 on a 1.88 60' with a M6 and 3.73s also. i dont remember the DA but it was hot and humid. not the best raceday there is. i recently installed a TH400 and am expecting to lose some MPH but hopfully i can get a better ET.
