Hell, can barely get in the car now, without a rollbar.

I've been a iron worker and fabricator for 30 years, the climbing and lifting beam and plate work and welding and cutting has definitely broke me down over the years, I'm just glad now i'm the Foreman but just headaches now. But ill always work on my hotrods till the day I die , just love it to much.
I don't drink ,but theres time I wish I did , lol......

Hell, the only reason I work on my cars is, I don't trust anybody and they charge way to much. And you usually get screwed and not kiss!

Im with you on that, and that's what I did.

The difference is worth it, I built a LS2 4:00 (030"over) 4.030" bore 4.100" stroke x 6.125" rods = 418cid.

LS3 4.065" bore (025 over bore) 4.090" bore 4.100" stroke x 6.125" rods= 431cid. , So I got a difference of 13 more cubic inch with just changing blocks. to get the larger bore.
When I ordered my piston there were no price difference in the size of bore

My wife (Rene') is 11 years younger than me.
I like faster cars, younger women and colder beer!

Ya. Went with scat 6.125 H beams. Not sorry I went with the ls2 at all after seeing your vid. Holy crap that vid made my year. I just got done with file fitting the rings for nitrous (glad I did now) Ha Ha. Its nice to have the light weight block but it looks like Ill be hunting down a 4l80(+100lbs) to support the power. At least the weight will be closer to the rear wheels. This should be better than my 496cid 69 SS Chevelle. That car weighed to much. I think the engine weighed 700lbs by itself. Miss it though.

I build my own trannys ,It basically a 2002 4l80 with stock internals with BorgWarner clutches and a FMVB shift kit , And a Circle-D Multi Disk 4800 stall lockup converter . The runs that I've made was on foot brake and locking the converter off the line with a 250 shot.

But since then I built another 2002 4l80 , but with Jakes Performance D1 Valve body with brake and his FMVB Black Box and I fully machined the drums and rollerised all the thrust washers and took a 1997 4L80 overdrive planetary & input shaft and replaced the 2002's . And I added the 400TH pistons to replace the stamped steel pistons and still run the Circle-D 4800 Muti Disk converter and a few more odd and ends

What would be the best year 4l80 to start with? The 1997?
