Shank style wheel ( rim ) uses long style lug nut that fits snugly into the rim with a washer and holds the rim from the out side, unlike a acorn wheel nuts that holds from the inside. I know, it sounds like I answered my own question. So my question still stands

If you have extended studs, you need the right lug nuts for the stud.
They have a washer made on to the nut. And they use an aluminum thick spacer, around 1", in between.

Racestars use a shank style. You don't NEED to use them, but I suppose it does offer better holding for the wheel maybe.

Thinking about it, I have extended studs on the front and they do have the open end shanks that the studs stick through. But my backs are like I describe above.

I don't see why not.
What rims do you have, do you have spacers.

"The thread engagement on all wheel studs to the lug nut, or lug bolts to wheel hubs, must be equivalent to or greater than the diameter of the stud/bolt. Length of the stud/bolt does not determine permissibility. (Example: A 7/16-inch stud must be thoroughly engaged through the threads in the hex portion of the lug a minimum of 7/16-inch.)"

Can't tell, but I've also never had anyone say anything about my studs even with stock wheel studs.

I can't tell either, why do you have extended studs?
If the shanks don't recess into the rims, that's not going to pass.

These are summit stars and are the acorn style rims, got a good deal on them so I was just checking if I can use them. I'm not a racer, I just like to go out sometimes and have fun. Its just a 60 mile drive to the track so I wanted to know if these where ok

It's all about having fun.
Get the right lug nuts for the rims.
If your trying to use your factory stock lug nuts with those rims it's not going to work.

Thanks, but the lug nuts I'm using is McGards cone seat just like my rims are cone seat also. I don't think tech would say to much anyways, I'm just a local, no braket type of guy and just want to have fun. Thanks again for your input.
