Midwest Chassis does it AGAIN...Nitrous to F1X Blower Update!
#102
I tried to go this route a while back. I was gonna make the switch from my F2 to the f1x-12 and procharger shut me down as it was not a direct bolt in.
If something has changed..............please enlighten me.

Sorry... to correct my statement the blower drive and stands are the same, the adapter plate for the drive is different as the bolt pattern on the X and F3 housings are different.

Yes, Eric is correct that there is different plates between the two blowers. Now, technically it is a direct bolt on from one blower to another. The standoff lengths are the same, drive hub etc. I literally unbolted one blower and bolted the other on in a matter of 20 minutes. I have two different discharge tubes depending on what blower I run.

Random question..........are you doing the wiring thing as a full time job now?

As Eric said, lots of time cleaning and wanting to take care of it. I powder coated the chassis to make sure all the cage and fab work done by Eric @ Midwest Chassis would always look killer...and then the car was completely painted. We didnt cut any corners on this build...and Eric @ Midwest Chassis can attest to that.
You are 100% correct. I go through ALOT of spray detailer on this thing
Electrical is all done by myself @ RaceWire Solutions and Trick Cable and Switch. If you can dream it, we can build it!
Yes, Eric's new carbon body parts he is selling are top notch. Nothing but the best IMO....cant wait to get one of his carbon roofs on my car this winter!

When That is done, are the body panels taped off or do you just get the whole coated. I would imagine that the paint and body guy might not like the idea of having to paint a car this nice that has had the body powerder coated.........or am I missing something?

I'd like to revisit the powder coat conversation. I assume the this is not a full tube chassis car where the whole body is held on by fasteners. So if that is the case, Most of the body had to be on the car during power coat right?

I uploaded a few pics for you as I unloaded the car from powder coat to help better understand what it takes to do this.

Sorry for all the random questions all the time, but I'm just so inspired by this car. There isn't one thing about it I would change if it was mine. Thanks for posting pics and updates. Now that my nose is completely brown..........
Do you know how short the primary tubes are on No. 7 & 8 cylinders. They look to be very short.
Also, what tube size are you using for the headers?

I am not exact on the length, but I do know there is a very minimal difference between the lengths for all the tubes. The back ones look shorter, but they really arent as short as they appear.
Tube sizes are 2-3/8" stepped to 2-1/2" with a 5" collector.

I can supply the crimpers if needed as well. Two choices there...w-style crimp which uses a cheaper tool like the MSD crimper with Deutsch Jaws or a barrel/solid style pin/socket that uses the more expensive Deutsch barrel crimper. I prefer the barrel style crimps IMO.
