Default HELP: Slower Times after adding Mods???

I have a 98 Z28 M6, I bought it used and it had around 50K. I took it to the track and the best out of 5 runs was 13.4 @ 106mph in the 1/4. Not bad for Stock!

Mods I've added:

K&N FIPK, FlowTech Long Tube Headers, ORY pipe, Flowmaster Muffler, Hurst Billet Shifter, Accel Extreme 9000 wires, NGK Plugs & Royal Purple in
Trans & Rear end.

Now the car has 103K on it so, I took it to the track tonight hoping for very low 13's or even high 12's, But out of about 7 runs the best I got was 13.8's. .. What up with that??

Some one out there said the air was bad tonight, will that make that big of a difference?

Im trying to get the car in the 12's with out putting it on the bottle or adding a supercharger, I figured I was doing the right thing by adding mods but it seems to be slowing me down.

Any Ideas??

Thanks
Christian

humm thats not right!!!!! at all. That flowmaster muffler blows that is hurting you. since you changed your rear end, whats the new gear ratio? that can make a big difference! does it come out the hole slow? or just not feeling power the whole time. and those plugs and wires not too sure about those. try adding the plugs and wires i have on my sig card. they pretty much the best for our cars. let me know

Bad air and bad track prep can make a huge difference in the performance of the car. I've see a difference of 7 tenths better from a well prepped track at 1000' (500' DA) then a worse prepped track at 2750' (3500' DA). Take a look at your MPH more than the ET to see if you made any more horsepower from the mods. Another example, last night I was trapping 86 MPH at 5:30pm and at 8:00pm I was trapping 88.5. As it gets cooler, the air usually gets better. If you had a worse 60' this time around, that will obviously hurt your ET's.

If you are concerned the car is making less horsepower take it in to have someone scan for any codes or A-tap it yourself. You may be running very rich from the Long Tube Headers. Perhaps it an use a decent tune. Everyone has a bad day at the track, don't get frustrated. Good Luck.

bad2000ss, Your'e right about it running richer, I have a air/fuel ratio gauge and after adding the headers i've noticed it's running on the rich side. Not sure how to fix this problem.

Thanks for all the info.
