Show me your pics of how you fabed up the fasteners, or pins. Specifically the VFN hoods. Thanks.

I don't have any pictures but I have a friend who used the pin/fasteners on a hood which weighed about 12 pounds. The hood (VFN) seems to be a little flimsly, but he had six pins holding it down. Two were put in the normal front side and the other four were placed in the back. The additional two in the back seemed to hold very well. Don't remember the type of fastner/pin. But is was a great weight saving technique. cheers and good luck.
