Default BOOSTane and RACEGAS

Anyone seen these Fuel Additives. They are making some claims that make me scratch my head. Both claim that you can fill up with pump gas, properly mix their product with your pump gas and achieve over 10-20 points in the octane RM/2 Rating.

http://boostane.com/ & http://race-gas.com/

i.e. 93 pump gas can become 105, if you use X amount of the additive.

My current set-up runs MS109 (105ish), but I can run as low as a Sunoco GTPlus (98ish)

Questions:

Who has experience with these products?

Would you trust this as a cheaper alternative?

Typically the ploy of all "octane boosters" is in the points claim , while they may be accurate the people buying them don't realize that a "point" = 0.1
so in your 10-20 points that would be raising 93 to 94-95 octane not the 105 your thinking of -it would take 220 "points" increase to do that.

Without buying race fuel the options that do raise octane a lot are either ethanol based like E85 (105 minimum for winter blend e70 to 112 for full on summer blend 85% ethanol) e98 118 octane but all ethanol fuels act like much higher that the octane rating due to the charge cooling alcohol provides from its high vaporization rate and the fact its stoich is lower so you are getting more fuel in the chamber= more liquid for heat transfer/quench detonation , it is also oxygenated so it adds more oxygen to each event which is an often overlooked part of the extra power people tend to make on $2.70 a gallon e85 over c16 (116 octane). It takes approx. 30% more fuel to run e85 so fuel system needs upgrades and tune needs to be adjusted , then there is the problem of availability - its not available everywhere , when I was playing with it on a previous boosted platform I had to drive 2 states away to get it.

The other way to go is add the same components added to pump & race fuels to increase octane zylene & toluene (less popular) are both in the 115-118 octane range and you will find them on the MSDS (material safety data sheet) for virtually any premium pump gas you can buy. its expensive by the gallon (close to $20 at home depot etc...) but I have seen posted on the Grand National forums that you can order 55 gal drums of zylene through paint supply houses in the $3.XX per gallon range generally they run 1 gallon zylene to 5 gallons pump premium or 4 to 1 if they add a small quantity of top end lube like marvel mystery oil , tcw2 2 stroke oil etc... to the fuel.

Speaking of GN's a lot of those 6 cyl turbo guys go the "7th injector" route with alcohol injection usually set up to turn on via hobbs switch at a certain boost level , NA with high compression I would imagine using a throttle position type switch.

These are all viable options each with their own strengths and drawbacks but octane boosters are generally marketing snake oil

I want to bring this back alive rather than starting a new one since there wasn't much response here. I am thinking about using BOOSTane to make about 98 octane on a Procharger setup instead of relying on meth. Has anyone used this stuff? They points are full points . Not .1.
